Films are journeys to other times and places. They are insights into different worlds, allowing us to broaden our horizons beyond our everyday lives. We are delighted to provide you with this opportunity to travel across the globe with us, and to warmly welcome you to our lands of snow and ice as well as many wonderful surprises.
 
The Nordic countries produce several long films every year to local and global markets. We are proud to present to you some of the finest Nordic film productions at this Festival, including the Oscar-nominated films Max Manus (Norway) and Flame and Citron (Denmark), Golden global nomination film Everlasting Moments (Sweden) and hit of the Toronto Film Festival 2008, Sauna (Finland).
 
It has been a pleasure to see how much positive interest Nordic film has attracted. With this support we have been able to provide the Festival audience with complimentary events such as a workshop for future Australian directors. We would like to thank all our supporting partners, as well as sponsors and the Nordic Embassies, for enabling us to put together this Festival.
