COMMUNITY DAY
Saturday 17 May, 10 am to 2 pm
The Danish Embassy invites you to join its community partners at the Dreams on Wheels exhibition to see cyclists showing their off-road skills, ride the Copenhagen City Cycle, have a free safety inspection of your bicycle, learn safe bicycling skills, and see what Canberra has to offer bicyclists.
The Community Day is located at the
Showcase Gallery, Commonwealth Place, Canberra, ACT
Have a go with Canberra Off Road Cyclists (CORC).
Come and try racing, learn about mountain biking, see some incredible high tech bicycles, watch the most amazing trials riders jump hop and dab their way around the precinct. Learn more about the off road tracks and trails around Canberra including Stromlo Forest Park.
CORC will have displays and information about the club, mountain biking and of course the 2008 Nissan World Cup powered by Shimano in August this year as well as the 2009 UCI World Mountain Bike Championships to be held in Canberra in September 2009 which will be the largest cycling event in Australia since the Sydney Olympics.
Learn what the peak body for bicyclists in the ACT -
Pedal Power – has to offer. Hear about Pedal Power's involvement in helping to ensure cycling is part of urban planning in the ACT. Have your say on improving cycle paths, crossings, bike parking, signs and other ideas to encourage more Canberrans to cycle more often.
Have your bicycle checked.
Have you ever puzzled over how to adjust brakes or gears? Are you cycling at the right cadence for best performance? These and other questions will be answered by Pedal Power's cycle experts. Bring your bike along and get free safety adjustments.
Learn safe bicycling skills.
Children can learn new and test their existing bicycle skills in a ‘Bike Rodeo’ under the skilled tutoring of Cycle Education. They will also receive score cards so they can repeat the activities and test themselves at home.

Come and watch ACT Unicyle Riders Society
perform a show of freestyle unicycling, extreme unicycling, tricks, unicycle basketball, giraffe unicycles etc. The show will include routines that will be used at the World Unicycling Champhionships in Copenhagen in July this year. After the show you will be able to participate in a "come and try" unicycle clinic.
